Urban Planning
Harlem CDC’s Planning department is a technical advisor
to community stakeholders and investors as they work
together to promote sustainable economic development and
community revitalization in East Harlem, Central Harlem,
West Harlem and Washington Heights. Our mission includes
providing an urban planning framework to assist community
stakeholders in the formulation of land use and economic
development strategies for their communities.
The Planning Director’s role is to build consensus and coalitions,
as appropriate, to provide the advocacy and momentum to advance the
types of projects that are so essential to community development.
The Planning Director also provides technical assistance in zoning,
land use and urban design to community-based organizations and
entrepreneurs.
